Biography

Theia “The Traitor” was born in the year 175 in the City of Eros as the oldest daughter in the Herané family. It was immediately clear when she was born that she had many magical powers at her disposal. Of course it was obvious, being a member of the Herané family; a family known for producing seers  It was only hours after her birth that her blind grandfather held her for the first time, and indeed it seemed the power of the gods themselves flowed through her veins: his sight returned on the spot.

As the red-haired Theia grew older, she was chosen to become one of the acolytes of the Akropolis in the City of Eros.  She spent her days learning spells and practicing with staffs. Theia was in the same class of Acolytes as Xiopeneia, Themesa, Yleia and Lysis, whom she saw as her friends – although she was the youngest of the group and was sometimes looked down upon by the other Acolytes because of her young age and beauty.

Her teacher in these forming years was the praised and wise Selene, the most likely successor at this moment to the role of High Priestess of Aur in the Realm of Eros. As expected, in the year 187, with a landslide, Selene was elected the new High Priestess of Aur by the other priests from across the entire Realm. It was in the year 195 that Theia performed her rites with success and thus became a full member of the priesthood of the realm.

After the banishing of Selene in the year 196, and the capturing of her other acolytes, it was Theia who was left as the only priestess on the Akropolis. In order not to cause unrest in the city (Selene was an extremely popular priestess), the whole affair with Selene was covered up, after which it was indicated that Selene had died peacefully in her sleep. Her last wish being that Theia would be her successor as the High Priestess of Aur.

It was at the advice of Theia that Herculon II held the council on the use of magic in the Realm of Eros. After the end of the Nemisian Civil War, a period of respective peace had broken out in the realm, only contested by small groups of magic users who plagued the countryside.  Herculon wanted to put an end to this and decided on laws to curtail the use of attacking magic. At first almost all magic was banned, but due to a rebellion in the following year of the Brear, some of these laws were reversed

Opposing these new rules and regislations was Eridius “The Protector of Cadma”, the grand Protector of Cadma. He voted against this rules and laws in the shadow of the upcoming powerhouse in the east: The Empire of Jagrad, were magic abilities were not only teached, but even promoted. This eventually led to a long-standing feud between Theia and her sage of reason on the one hand, and Eridius and the sage of force on the other. Followers of these sages were known to sometimes have fights at annual festivals or, for example, at the chariot races.
